CARE Germany e.V. via the Branch Office in Skopje – North Macedonia, within the framework of the project, led a delegation of relevant institutions and civil society organizations on a study visit to the Republic of Slovenia. The study visit was intended for representatives of the working group set up within the project aimed at revising the legal framework relevant to agricultural cooperatives.
The study visit was an inter-institutional exchange of experiences with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry, the Parliament of the Republic of Slovenia and the Union of Cooperatives of the Republic of Slovenia. In addition, it was made possible for the participants to experience the practical operation of agricultural cooperatives in Slovenia by visiting two agricultural cooperatives. The delegation visited KZ Cooperative Agraria Cooper and KGZ Skofja Loka.
The study visit delegation was comprised of representatives from the CARE Germany e.V. project team, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, the National Extension Agency, the Ministry of Economy, the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia, from the Macedonian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives, the National Federation of Farmers, as well as journalists from the Macedonian Radio and Television.
The study visit was held in the period 18-21 September 2019 in the Republic of Slovenia, as part of the Result 1 of the project: Revised legal framework for cooperatives through the cooperation of the project team, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy and the umbrella organization of cooperatives.
