NORTH MACEDONIA: WORKING TOGETHER SUCCESSFULLY THROUGH AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES

posted in: News | 0

Many farmers in North Macedonia struggle to keep up with larger companies, because they lack the necessary skills to produce and market their products efficiently. CARE and the European Union, within the Project “Support to Development of Agricultural Cooperatives” support the establishment and training of agricultural cooperatives, where farmers come together to share their experience and benefit from each other. The financial support enables them to store and package their products more efficiently, which leads them to earn more money and become more important for their markets. Other cooperatives offer jobs to addicted people, who benefit not only from professional therapy, but also from structured work habits that make them more responsible. In the past 2 years, 15 cooperatives have been funded in North Macedonia. Farmers understand that they can learn from each other and in the end, they are stronger together.
